Join us on Method to the Mathness, a podcast for math educators by math educators. In this math podcast, which we recorded throughout 2019 and 2020, we explore how to keep students engaged and curious about the world of math. We speak with prominent leaders and thinkers in math education and invite them to share their experiences. As we recorded these episodes, our goal was to empower educators to grow their practices and prepare them to bring out the math greatness within their students.

This work can be challenging at times but rewarding when schools, districts, and businesses create cultures where learning is the focal point. Regardless of the size or socioeconomic status of districts he has led or consulted, Anthony brings a contagious joy and passion to the important task of educating children, who will become our future.

Dr. Tyrone Howard is a professor in the Graduate School of Education and associate dean for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion at UCLA. He established the Black Male Institute, an interdisciplinary group of scholars, practitioners, community members, and policymakers dedicated to facilitating the difficult conversations and changes that will improve the educational experiences and life chances of males of color. He is the author of All Students Must Thrive.
